Hey everyone

Today was Surfers Paradise day!

We woke up at the crack of dawn (6am!) to get to the coach stop for our journey to Surfers Paradise. It was a long journey, seven hours on the coach made even longer by the hour gained as we crossed the border into Queensland. We stopped off at Bryon Bay, our next planned destination, but as there were no beds at any of the hostels we had to keep going to Surfers Paradise. We weren't too disappointed as Bryon Bay would probably have been similar to the previous places we stopped at.

We arrived in Surfers Paradise and our hostel seemed okay, though it was nowhere near the centre of Surfers Paradise. It turned out that none of the hostels were very close, as the centre was dedicated to huge hotels and skyscrapers. After settling in, we went to the nearby shopping centre so that Christina could buy Alex's anniversary present. A little while and some difficult shopping later, we went back to the hostel and had dinner. The hostel had a nice garden with a small swimming pool, and we spent the evening with our feet in the pool before going to bed. Xxx
