Hey everyone

Today was our one year anniversary!

After getting up and getting ready to go out for the day, we exchanged presents and cards.

Our first stop was the supermarket nearby to get some food for our picnic lunch. We bought a salad, cheese, grapes, olives, rocky road and more, and we then found a nice place by the river, watching jet skis and boats go by, to have the first half of our picnic.

We then went over to Main Beach, just along from the Surfers Paradise beach, and walked along the spit, where the beach got quieter. We found some shade on the beach and finished off our picnic, watching surfers out on the waves. We spent most of the afternoon relaxing on the beach, paddling in the sea, writing in the sand, and taking pictures of each other jumping in the air.

We eventually went back to the hostel, dressed up and headed out for a lovely walk along the water to the restaurant strip in the centre of town. We discovered quickly that a meal for each of us would be around 100 dollars (about £50) but eventually we found a lovely little italian on the corner and decided to get take out pizza and eat it on the beach. The moon was almost full so it lit the crest of the waves that were crashing onto the beach. It was lovely. We took a slow stroll home and headed for bed, thinking about the lovely day we had. Xxx
