Friday 15th June 2018 - With an early start we drove to William Creek thinking that we would arrive around 10:00am. However, due to the worsened road conditons our speed limit was dramatically reduced so our actual arrival time was 11:00am.
From here we took an hours flight over Lake Eyre that was an amazing spectacle of natural beauty. Lake Eyre is also the location where Malcolm Campbell broke the land speed record.
After leaving William Creek we had our first incident that luckily wasn't a dramatic one. Our UHF Radio Aerial snapped off along the track on the way to Coober Pedy. It was swiftly retrieved from the track side and Phil used his bush mechanic skills to refit it.
We rolled into Coober Pedy shortly after dark having driven along the roughest stretch of track we have yet to experience and one that had absolutely no interesting features. Just 160kms of dust and sand.

Kaye Nutman I bet the flight was amazing! Good to know you spotted the aerial falling off. Hard to replace out there I'd imagine, and good to know that Phil has bush mechanic skills!
