Thursday 14th June 2018 - Marree is where we started our trip along the Oodnadatta Track. Around the campfire the night before we heard that the place to stop was Coward Springs. Not far from Marree we stopped at Alberrie Creek to view numberous sculptures made from scrap metal - an interesting collection including two planes upended and welded together.
Next stop, Lake Eyre South lookout a view across the salt plains as far as you can see. A lake without water and where we had lunch.
The travelling conditions experienced along the track is very rough, with lots of dust and corrigations, so for safety our speed limit was 40kms
We then stopped to take a look at the Curdimurka Ruins that was an old Ghan railway station.
We made Coward Springs at around 2:30pm where we decided to stop for the night and free camped. Wow! what a wonderful place; an oasis in the middle the track with it's own natural hot spring, that we took advantage of soon after we arrived to relax after the rough conditons.

Kaye Nutman Very creative this outback lot - I like the sound of the sculpture park. What did you do when you drove at school zone speed? Have you found any talking books? They're good to listen to. We listened to a whole Harry Potter novel going outback for 10 days. The reading world is your oyster!
