8th June 2018 - Headed through the Coorong National Park along the Southern Ocean Drive towards Adelaide. Our first stop was at Kingston S.E. to visit with the Giant Lobster then we stopped at The Granites that was basically a collection of boulders in the surf, the Chinamans Well where we took a walk and spotted some Beautiful Firetails. Then on to Jack Point where we saw some Wallaby's and we also spied some Emu's along the way. Other birds spotted: Cuckoo Strike, Black Shouldered Kite, Kestral, Wedge Tailed Eagle and Australian Shelduck.
Found a nice quiet spot and free camped for the night.
9th June 2018 - After an early start we drove to a beautiful, quaint town called Strathalbyn where we stopped to take a walk around and buy a few provisions before we headed off to McLaren Vale. On arrival in McLaren Vale we dropped the caravan & took a drive to the d'Arenburg winery to visit the famous Cube for wine tasting and view the unique Art Gallery.
10th June 2018 - Our first port of call today was the old German settlement town of Hahndorf (est.1837). What a wonderful place, with a great atmosphere. On walking around we found a small local brewery where Phil couldn't resist sampling the local beer, we then went on to try some tasty waffles.
After spending a few hours in Hahndorf we set off along the picturesque Gorge Scenic Drive for our next destination Tanunda in the Barossa Valley where we intend to stop for a few days. We may have to sample some of the local wines while we are here!

Gail Thank you for taking the time to share your adventures. Sounds like you are enjoying whatever wonders are to be seen at each locale. That lobster would give kids nightmares! Enjoy your rest travel break and wines!
Kaye Nutman Sounds as though it's all going swimmingly. I remember we visited Hahndorf with Alex when we spent a few days in Adelaide c2001 - I think we probably stopped at the same waffle shop!
Andrew How good is the lobster Phil, massive !!!
