We had a huge drive today, on the road since 7am. To entertain ourselves we've all been making friendship bracelets, the whole bus is like a bunch of 8 year old girls - brilliant. David, the ultra macho man's man, was VERY into making his bracelets lol. It is "PJ DAY" today, it was v. funny to see everyone wandering around in their pyjamas in Walmart. Stopped at a town called Pigeon Forge for some multi-story go-karting. JB and Dad would have loved it! This tiny little town was chock-a-block full of RANDOM enterntainment stops, like the "Upside Down Mansion".
We had dinner in the COOLEST mexican restaurant (in our pjs of course), a place called "Del Sol", in Springville, Alabama. The roof was decorated in lots of hanging squares of colourful tissue paper, there was a mural depicting a mexican street scene taking up an entire wall, large paper mache parrots and sunflowers all over the bathroom/ I tried fried icecream, which was nothing like i imagined! Just like a normal icecream, only a bit crunchy. I had imagined an icecream fritter of sorts...
When we FINALLY reached the campsite, having been driving for about 15 hours, we found that the gate was closed! By this point everyone seemed a little delirious, Cookie and James rolled their pjs up to the crotches, and walked around with no shirts on. When the owner of the camp eventually arrived I suspect she was quite disturbed. She was a grumpy old cow, and told Christina she didnt have a reservation (despite the fact that Christina's card HAD been charged for the night). Anyway, we ended up staying at an Econolodge, with 7 or 8 people squeezed into one room - cozy!
