So it's been a huge day! We didn't get to the hotel until 11pm and then I was just super full of excited energy and didn't sleep til about 1am! We met up with the trek early this morning, everyone seems quite nice. There is James, David, Cookie, Alex, Victoria, Stacey, Sumi, Jen, Sam, Kate and Lisa + Christina our tour leader who looks remarkably like Maggie Gyllanhall. We went on the "Illumination Tour" in Washington D>C> tonight, and it was slightly boring to see the sights again as we came to D>C> with Dad a couple of years ago. It was still cool to think " I am standing where Martin Luther King had his dream", but by far the best experience was the Korean War Memorial. Seeing the statues at night added a whole new dimension, really forced the tradegy of war onto you. I guess everything just seems so happy and bright during day time, at night the lights made them seem almost real.
