Well the monks 'wake up call' was a little earlier than expected - 4:30am!
Had a great day on the Emei Mountain; got cable car to the top (3030m) where the (pictured) big gold shiny statue & temple is. And after lunch set off on a lovely hike up to another monastery where we are staying for the night. Came across monkeys on the way up, even saw one leap onto a lady's back, unzip her bag and retrieve a packet of crisps- easy.
Have grown quite attached to my Chaplin-esque cane that I've been sporting today; it's officially for fending off monkeys but makes me want to break out into a little sketch!
Yummy noodles for dinner at the Hard Wok cafe at the top. Looking forward to the pancakes we've ordered for brekkie tomorrow (which they accidentally served us for dessert tonight - double the fun :)
Toilets got a whole lot weirder today- we discovered a chicken living in 1 of the cubicles at our lunch establishment! As Paul put it 'there's a c*** in the ladies'.
(Just hoping this wasn't where our Kung Pao had been residing!)
