I cuddled a panda :). The dufus camera dude took video on my iPhone rather than photos, so will have to wait til I've uploaded the ones from my camera. Was very cute, sort of like a big Henry. Think must have been about 7 months old. Can't hug the adult ones at the mo as it's mating season so he may have tried to give me little pandas! There's apparently less than 1000 left (and I do feel bad for selfishly cuddling one) but the centre is doing a lot for research and breeding of this 'sexually reluctant' species.
Went for a spicy 'hot pot', which is China's version of fondue?!
Was put off by the array of items on offer: pig brains, quails eggs... not really my bag, so I had a 7up & a magnum instead! It was entertaining to watch the others sweat it out and fish for food in the vat of chilli oil bubbling away in the middle of our table.
Had a nice wander round the lovely 'ancient street', and in the evening went to the local opera- a charming teahouse showing a series of acts including a stick puppet show, Chinese flute & violin music, a shadow puppet (which was very good) and the main one - the changing faces bit where, in a flash, their masks change.
I'm all itchy, I think the panda gave me fleas!
