I have realized that this is the longest I have ever been away from home, let alone the states. There are things about home that I have forgotten, like what the roads look like, fences, and lawns with very inviting, green grass. Slowly but surely, the states that I call my home has become a strange and frightening place to me. I cant help but stare at tourists that walk down the streets, thinking of how different they are, and how much they dont know about my community. It will be interesting when I go back to the states for my friends wedding. To see people I have not seen in a year.

On a lighter note, Mother's day is around the corner! My host family relatives on my mom's side are all coming over to the house on Sunday to make ceviche. I am going to contribute making cookies from packets from the states. Thanks family for the packages! I would take pictures if I had a camera. Two peruvians stole it when I was working in Bernales on a latrine project.

Hope everyone celebrates mothers day with their moms! They do so much for us. It pains me that I cannot be with my mom on Sunday. But I will for sure call her.
