Hey all!
Hope things in the states are brightening! I am in sunny Ica once again, and have been out of my site for about 2 weeks now! So long that I have not seen my family! They really miss me. Apparently while I was gone, my dad tried to make rice a roni, and did it incorrectly, so ate raw rice for dinner!! My brother, peter, made mac and cheese successfully and LOVES IT!
I am in training with the other water and sanitation volunteers for my group. Its such a great reunion!! I love talking about our sites with them. We all live in such different places. It rains 5 hours a day in some of their sites, some never see the sun, and its always cold. I am rolling in shorts all the time in my site, and some others cant even take a shower its so cold. They cant afford to show that little bit of skin every once in a while. Its just that cold!!
Training is boring, for the most part. We sit and listen to presentations about why washing your hands is important. But I think it would be great if all of you readers out there thought of ways to conserve more water and do it! Then email me what you did to conserve more water. It will be interesting to see the differences between peruvian water conservation and american water conservation.
FYI. I decided that I am going to learn the mandolin while I am in the peace corps! I have so much time to play, and it would be pretty cool. Does anyone have a mandolin that they are not using that I could either rent or buy? llamame, or email me!
Happy travels!

Your Mom Here is a water conservation idea - pave over all the lawns in America. We don't need them. Besides saving on water, we will save on gasoline because we won't need lawn mowers to cut the stupid grass.
Your Mom Here is another water conservation idea - don't garden. It is cheaper to go to the Farmer's Market, it helps the economy more and you save on all the garden watering, which is probably inefficient. Besides the lawn, you can pave over your garden plot, too.
