We are back on the bike after a full brekky at the hotel. Another beautiful warm and sunny day. Exploring the other side of Oia riding along the bottom road along the water. Much straighter and less traffic. Sean was going fast. Ending up in Fira like magic, we found a car park and stumbled across all the shops. Browsing through we also came across the 'famous' cable cart which had a lovely view with a couple of cruise ships parked in sea. There was a long path down and we could see donkeys waiting at the top and bottom for trips.
Sean missed breakfast this morning so he had a tender pork gyros sandwich with no garlic sauce (fructose intolerant) and the chips inside made it extra yummy. It was hard to find a takeaway stall. We didn't venture as far today but made our way down to the 'sunset' port to get a view looking up to the windmill. We could also see the 300 steps easily, and of course donkeys waiting for their ride. Back at the hotel earlier then yesterday, we sided by the clear blue pool to catch some rays and cool off in the magnificent infinity pool.
Dinner was at Ochre. Tripadvisor's number one restaurant in Oia. Luckily I saw the sign for it when we were exploring yesterday. Perfect positioning for the sunset, set up next to that windmill. We had gourmet versions of meatballs, zucchini and feta frittata and salad. All presented artfully just like the mains and dessert which was smooth and creamy yoghurt over sugar syrup fruit. We were also treated to a clear traditional shot of liquor. Wish we understood what it was cos it was yum. It warmed up my tummy for the walk to the bike and the ride to the hotel.

Mum Neal & I were in Santorini 30/7/09 and I understand how the view takes your breath away. We had lunch at the Mylos cafe near the wind mill! Neal persuaded me to take the donkey ride down, far more scarier than taking the ride up, but definitely worthwhile just for the experience. You will love Mykanos, check out Little Venice, lots of little shops and cocktail bars. We had lunch at Katerina's in Little Venice, sitting on a balcony suspended over the Sea. Im sure you will come across the famous pelican being fed regularly at the port. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Jane How fun to share same experiences with parents/in-laws. You'll have plenty to talk about when you get home. Not long now. Didn't know garlic was considered frustose. Learn something new every day. See you in less than a week. Love u. xxx
