I DID IT!! Oh it was amazing!
Had some breakfast and chilled for a bit before heading out. I tried not to think too much about the bungee jump as I didn't want to get too nervous.
Went to the bungee jump place about 10 minutes walk from where I'm staying. Checked in for both the bungee jump and canyon swing. They had to weigh me, I signed a waiver and all that. Had to wait for quite a while before finally getting on the bus which took us to the place where we do the bungee jump and canyon swing. It took about 40 minutes so a pretty long journey. It was pretty much in the middle of nowhere at the top of the hills.
Got fitted into a harness and all that. I was starting to get more nervous, talking to some others didn't help as they were even more nervous than I was! Had to get into a sort of cable car to the bungee pod.
We had to go in order from heaviest to the lightest so I had to wait a while for my turn. Was getting more excited and nervous at the same time. But after hearing people's reaction to it I just couldn't wait for my turn!
It was finally my turn, gave my camera to an Australian girl to take pictures but unfortunately she didn't take good ones! Thankfully for the professional photos! As I got strapped onto the bungee rope the guy that worked there made sure I understood what to do and all that. My heart was racing when I stepped onto the ledge to jump. I just had to check how far down I would be going! The man tapped me three times, on the third time I had to jump. WOW! The feeling whilst falling was just amazing! A brilliant adrenaline rush. I would just love to do it over and over again. Maybe the one in South Africa which is even higher!
Back to the cable car to do the canyon swing. I wasn't nervous at all as the bungee jump was the major thing for me. Perhaps I should have done the canyon swing first to build up the excitement?
There were four girls before me and they did a tandem swing. They were all incredibly nervous, they kept screaming! It was quite amusing to watch!
I decided to go backwards and upside down for my swing. Gave my camera to the girls to take photos of me. But of course not very flattering photos lol!!
They released me so there was no jumping for me. It was unexpected as I had no control over when I'd be going! But that made it even better. It was brilliant!
I bought photos and videos of both the bungee jump and canyon swing. Can't download the videos at the moment unfortunately. Probably because my iPad isn't compatible. It'll have to wait until I get back home. Got a free T-shirt for the bungee jump and a cap for the canyon swing. Like I'd ever wear the cap lol! So I'm not too sure whether to just throw it away or take it with me.
Went back to my room and had some lunch before going for a long walk by the huge lake. Beautiful views. Ended up walking 14km!
Went out for dinner at this great place. Didn't have to pay for the food, yay! The food was great, we shared pizzas along with garlic bread, chips and salad. I had some mulled wine too which was so nice. It was weird having it in June though even Christmas is nowhere near! It's the total opposite here at this time of year, there are ice rinks, mulled wine/cider, etc. It's like having two Christmases in one year lol!
Had a wristband which meant we got a huge discounts for drinks, yay!
Went to an ice bar afterwards. It was freezing even with two coats on! It probably was the best ice bar I've been to actually. It was so cold that when we stepped back outside after it felt so so warm in comparison when it was actually cold outside!
Going on the Shotover jet tomorrow which is meant to be the fastest and most exciting boat ride in the world. Cannot wait!
