There were pancakes for breakfast! Yummy.
Visited the memorial place for miners. The richer the miner's family was, the better plot the miner had. There was one really exclusive plot for a few miners who obviously had really rich families. Many of them had only died recently, from 30 years ago up until now.
Tried this sort of drink, I have no idea what it was but it didn't taste very nice at all!!
Before dropping us off back at the hotel we were taken to this cafe for some spicy empanadas. They weren't very nice so left most of it! It was only 40p so cheap! The food here in Bolivia is ridiculously cheap, it's less than £5 on average for a good meal and drinks!
Had free time for lunch so just chilled out for an hour.
In the afternoon we went to the silver mine at the top of Potosi. Before going up we each bought some coca leaves and a bottle of peach drink for the miners. Tried the coca leaves which don't taste very nice! They taste a lot better in tea!
Got kitted out in miners gear - trousers, jacket, wellies and a hat. The mine wasn't as narrow as I thought it would be. It was quite low most of the time so had to keep bending down although I banged my head countless times! Thankfully I had the hat on!! We had to crawl at one point as it was so low and narrow. We had to wear a mask to protect us from breathing in the fumes but it just made me really hot so I didn't bother to wear mine most of the time! Not everyone went in the mine as some people are claustrophobic but it wasn't all that bad really!
As soon as I got back I picked up my laundry. Ahhh it's so nice to have clean clothes once again! My top and thermal leggings were missing though :( I ask and they had my top, but no thermal leggings! So had to ask around and luckily one of the girls had it, phew! They should be more organised!
Watched the end of the Chile and Australia match. It was very competitive between Rodrigo and the two Australian couples! Funny to watch.
Had some cake too as it's Aimee's birthday today.
Bed early as leaving for Sucre at 5am!! We might have to walk for about 45 minutes due to road closures. I hope not as I have a huge bottle of water to carry too as well as my bags!
