Today's the start of a very long journey ahead of me!
Didn't sleep too badly last night thankfully. Let's hope I can survive until Friday evening New Zealand time :p
Got a flight to La Paz, it was very short, only under an hour. The airport in Sucre is tiny considering it's the capital of Bolivia! Not a lot to do around here but it had wifi which helped :p
La Paz is so much better than Sucre, I wish we had more time here but never mind! I can always come back here one day. The views on the way to our hotel were amazing! A shame I didn't get the chance to take any photos!
After checking into our hotel we checked out the witches market briefly before going for lunch. It was almost 3 by the time we had lunch so we were starving!
After lunch most people just wanted to relax in their hotel rooms but I've only got a very short time here so I went shopping in the witches market with a few others and bought some things. Now I officially have no room in my bags at all! So as soon as I get to Christchurch I will be posting some things home to free up space which is much needed as it was a huge struggle to fit everything in that I even had to sit on my bag! Lol!
In Bolivia they really love their animals. As there was a dog lying in the middle of the road in the witches market with a blanket under him/her and many cars couldn't get through but they all turned around and found an alternative way! And many people kept checking that the dog was okay. I think it's ill because it just couldn't be bothered to move even though so many people were around and many cars were driving by. Poor thing!
In the witches market they had dead baby llamas and llama foetuses (I think) hanging from the doorways! Wasn't a very nice sight!
Went out to this Asian restaurant for dinner. It was Rodrigo's last night with the group as well as mine and another girl, Kali's. But Kali was ill, poor thing! By the way her full name is Kalifornia and she's from America! Bizzare!
Another girl was ill too, she had to stop the taxi and go back to the hotel as she was feeling really sick.
The meal was really nice, I had my favourite, chicken tikka masala! Was so nice but very spicy! No match to the one I usually have at home, probably because I'm so used to it haha!
After the meal Rodrigo said his goodbyes to everyone and gave us all a little present, bless him!
I said my goodbyes to everyone too. It's weird leaving everyone after a month with them.
I had no time to do the death road bike ride unfortunately due to the change of plans with the transport to La Paz. It's probably a good thing as I haven't had good experiences with bikes in the past so knowing my luck I would have been one of the unlucky ones and fallen off!
Chilled out in my room until the taxi picked me up at 1am. Rodrigo was meant to see me off too and for me to give him a tip for him being brilliant but there was no sign of him, never mind! He's been really great, always making sure I'm following everything and that I have the full information and tells me one to one after talking to everyone which is really sweet.
It's nice to be on my own once again though for a little while. Got a long couple days of travelling ahead of me!
