Now in Sucre, the capital of Bolivia.
What a morning it was!! Picked up by a coach at 5am. Drove on for just under 3 hours I think. I slept most of the way! Then we were at a standstill. The main road to Sucre was closed because of a car race! So we had to get all our bags and walk for about an hour. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I just walked as fast as I could as I just wanted to get there and get it over with! Many people struggled though, bless them! We stopped where the road was taped off and had our breakfast while watching a bit of the car racing for a break.
We then walked uphill for a bit. There were rocks, thorny plants etc. Not easy with backpacks and all our stuff but we managed! It was mostly flat for the rest of the way luckily. It just got hotter and hotter. Couldn't wait to just dump my bags! Finally reached a minibus after half an hour or so.
It took ages to find the way to Sucre because so many roads were closed. It was crazy!!
We finally arrived in Sucre 7 hours later instead of just 3. At least we arrived in one piece! It's so so much warmer here which is really nice especially not to have to wear a coat!
Went out for lunch at this supposedly 'best' bar in Bolivia. It was pretty nice.
Walked around for a bit after lunch, looked at markets etc. I saw one mouth/nose that looked like a horse's! Or maybe it was a cow? I'm not sure as there were no eyes or ears!
Went to watch the England vs Italy match at the same bar we went to for lunch. The only match I'll watch properly, when England are playing! Disappointing result but they played well.
We were supposed to get the overnight bus to La Paz on Monday night but because of protests and road closures it's been cancelled. So we'll be staying an extra night in Sucre and will fly to La Paz on Tuesday morning. Phew as I hate overnight buses!
