Early start. Lots to do. We drove straight back to cape town and flounder the car place where, I have to say, they were excellent! (surprise!) and within 20 minutes had us in a new car and off!
We drove an hour out to a place called Malmesbury where we found a home office open on the Saturday and spent the morning queuing. I say next to this tiny smelly girl who wasn't filling in her forms. I offered her a pen but she declined and Garth told me she probably couldn't read or write. :( so I offered her a mint instead! I have to say the few afrikaans people there certainly made themselves noticed.....
It was a long wait but the staff were kind and helpful and said we souls come back Monday morning (the day of our flight) to pick up his temporary passport! Woooo hoooo! I'm not holding my breath because Garths family have told me many stories of papers being lost...but ATM its good news! So we celebrated with a KFC and a trip to the loo and drove 1 hourback to CT.
Garth wanted to drive me to see the 'classic' view of table mountain but it was STILL cloudy so we went to the bar he used to work in for a drink whilst the rugby was on. Which was really nice!
We headed home and I snoozed. We went out to Tim and Natasha Hoffman's for a coffee to meet their new baby, especially as we'd stood then up on Friday. Garth then took me for dinner at a bar called The Toad at the foot of Chapmans peak before having an early night.
