We were woken at 9am with two ladies bringing in our ample breakfast of porridge, juice, coffee, toast, eggs, bacon and yoghurt!!! We enjoyed this on our room balcony with a lovely view over the bay to Knysna heads in our soft fluffy dressing gowns.
We had left by 10 and made our way into the hills and eventually found the Smiths wood cabin. It was just beautiful, surrounded by thick Forrest with views over Knysna! I met Neil and Shelly and their kids. Also there was Gaylene, Graham and Carrey and kids and 2 grannies and an aunt! We had tea and chatted for 2 hours which was nice! Neil gave us his keys there, and after making a 30 minute detour forgetting our camera at the cabin and fetching it again, we bargain the 400km to Cape Town!
Garth drove it all, we stopped for a wimpy lunch and petrol etc. Dads radio plays were a bit of a life saver and we enjoyed the Windman Case and To Catch a Thief before I had a snooze.
Garth woke me at sunset as we went over the mountains into Cape Town. The mountains were rugged and really beautiful! Seeing Cape Town from such a height was amazing (we were the wrong side to see Table Mountain). It was then a further hour round to Fish Hoek where we (Garth) found Neil's flat very easily.
All the hundreds of gates, bars, locks and doors are still novelty to me, but I'm not sure how long it will last! Their flat was at the top (3rd story) and was just amazing. They had made our room up in the spare room and along the front of the flat were gigantic windows with the most amazing views!!!!
We popped to spar and had a pie and veg for dinner and selected The Lion King DVD from a very extensive children's collection! :) we are very blessed to be staying here!!!
