A good deal of the guys from the bus were doing the Black Water Rafting, a mix of caving and tubing, but I had decided to save my money for other things so enjoyed a lay-in. Those who didn't do this went for a walk nearby, saw some caves and beautiful forest. After jumping back on the bus we headed over to pick up our intrepid adventurers from the caves. We then headed for Taupo.

Just before arriving in Taupo we went to the Huka Falls, a huge flowing falls near to the town. Expecting to do a skydive late that afternoon me and Grace waited patiently (s***ting oursleves!). Then, after heading down to reception, we were told we couldn't do it that day- light was fading! Feeling pretty gutted (and jealous of those who had managed to do it) everyone then went out to the bar adjacent to the Base hostel we were staying at. Our team came second in the pub quiz- cheated by a group of locals (and their Iphone!!). A great team night out was had, as well as far too many Vodka Raspberry's!!!!

Next morning, we got up and headed off to the airfield to do our skydive! Our cancellation worked pretty well for us as it meant more of our group got to go together in the planes! After getting suited up, Ratters, Scott, Oz and myself headed up to 15,000ft.... and then came down... via 60seconds of freefall and an awesome parachute ride. The views over Lake Taupo (after clouds initially) we spectacular!! The best thing I've ever done! After us, Grace, Shona and Laura did theirs. After returning to the hostel we all went out for lunch. That evening a few of us just stayed in our room talking through the girls 31 point list of their ideal man... interesting (and enlightening!).

Following morning we got up early and headed towards River Valley. First stop was a walk around Tongariro National Park to a waterfall where we had lunch. After jumping back on the bus we headed to another waterfall (about 5m high) where we could jump in... scary, but fun!!! From there we headed deeper into the countryside for River Valley.
