Arrived in River Valley late afternoon. We had to walk the last mile or so while our bags were taken down on the back of a truck!! Once there we settled into our "Orgie Room".... basically a dorm with two giant bunk beds where everyone just slept side by side! After an awful dinner made in the tiny kitchen, we chilled in the common area with a roaring fire in the centre.

Next morning we were up early for our white water rafting trip. Nine Iron, Oz, Nick and me got dressed and headed off in the van to the river- with a suicidal dog doing its best to jump out of the windeow!!! We got in a boat together with our guide and headed off down-river. The trail got progressively harder, although Oz and Andy manged to fall out on Grade 2/3 rapids!! From there we did Grade 4 and 5's... challenging, but great fun! When finished we saw Ratters and Scott sitting on a chair suspended over the river... so splashed them pretty heavily, Oz fallling in the river in comedy style as he tried to grab them- "the roof, the roof, the roof is on fiiiiiiire"!!!!!

After a quick shower, we jumped on the bus and headed for Wellington, stopping in a place called Bulls, where all the shops/facilities were play on words... i.e the public toilets were titled "Relieve-a-bull"!!! After fish and chips there it was on to New Zealand's capital!
