So after a great morning exploring Fox Glacier it was back on the bus to head for Queenstown. Many stops along the way to admire the beautiful scenery. The first being Nights point lookout which was stunning. After a bit more driving we then stopped at thunder creek falls, a 5 minute walk to the lookout point and lots of annoying sandflies!! But worth it to stretch our legs and take in the view. Once back on the bus the scenery as we drove remained stunning passing by Lake Wanaka and then stopping at Lake Hawea for a group photo!! We also had time to stretch our legs for a while and me and Avril had a balancing competion which was amusing (check out the photo's). As we drove through the Crown ranges we could see Queenstown in the distance. Once we arrived the bus stopped at Lake Wakatipu and we were told to all get of the bus as they guide wanted to take another group photo, with a difference, which meant 7 of the blokes lying on th floor then basically the rest of us piling on top!! Hopefully they will send me a copy as it was rather amusing!! We then headed for our accomodation. That evening after dinner we headed out to the Ice Bar. Basically its this small room where everything is made from ice including the glasses. We get given think warm coats and gloves before heading in. After a few drinks and some silly photos and a bit of dancing we head back out into the warm again!! The next day i went Canoeing on the Dart river. The weather was awful all morning which was not very enjoyable but by lunchtime the rain had stopped and the clouds lifted slightly. The scenery was beautiful and the colour of the river it parts was stunning. The canoe wasn't a normal one its what they call a funyak which bascially is an inflatable canoe a bit like a ruber dingy!! We had to pump them up at the begining them at the end roll them back up. I was lucky enough to be paired up with one of the guides which meant i basically got to cruise along admiring the scenery instead of trying to control the thing!! That evening we all headed out to a pub for dinner then after ventured out for a few drinks and some of us had a pool competion!! The next day we got to have a slightly slower start to the day before heading off to Doubtful sound!!
