Well here i am on the other side of the world as far away as i could possibly be!!! Have been in Auckland for 3 days and well the city centre is not that great and cant wait to move on!! The weather here is very up and down, going from sunny to cloudy to raining to freezing cold all in a day!! However i have had a good time. As soon as i arrived and dropped my stuff at the hostel i headed out to track down my cousin Katie who had recent arrived in New Zealand too. It didn't take long and we were soon in a pub having a few beers catching up and at the end of the night we found the best kebab shop ever!! The next day we headed of to catch the ferry across to Waiheke Island which only took 30 minutes. Its a beuatiful island and nice to be away from the hussel and bussel of the city!! We walked into the town centre and from here pottered around. We also took a walk to see some of the beaches and sat down to take in the views. It wasn't a great day weather wise so no swimming but the rain didn't stop us having a wonder around. We found a cool cafe to have lunch which also had a great view to look out at. So after spending the day chilling out and pottering around we headed back to the Ferry arriving just as one was pulling away! We had to wait an hour for the next one but it didn't matter as neither of us were in any hurry to head back to the city!! Infact once the next ferry arrived the sun had just broke through the cloud so we decided to sit and wait for the next one after that as it was a stunning view in front of us and felt lovely with the sun shining on us!! So eventually we made it back to Auckland cooked some pasta then headed to the bar for a few beers then crashed out. The next day we decidied to head to Mission Bay, it looked as though it was going to be a nice day!! Yeah right after a short bus journey and a stroll along the beach front it was soon cold as the sun disappered behind the clouds and even attempted to rain!! All was well though we found a lovely Bakery so had a delicious freshly baked bun then caught the bus back to the city!! I then spent the afternoon doing domestic things like washing as no clean clothes and was starting to smell like i typical backpacker!! In the evening we had a few beers in the bar at the backpackers then went our seperate ways :( Not for long though as im heading off on my tour this afternoon which is for 2 weeks around North and South of New Zealand but my first stop is all so where Katie is heading so im there for 2 days and get free time to do my own thing so going to meet up again and maybe do some activities together such as swimming with dolphins!! Which im very excited about as didn't realise i would get the oppourtunity over here so that will make up for missing out in Australia!!
