I walked into the CBD via the Botanical Gardens and went to the Neighbours office ready for my tour. We were on a small minibus that took us to Pine Oak Close where they film the shots of the outside of the Neighbours' residents houses and watched as the character Lucas was being filmed walking out of his van and into his house. It seems he's not great at walking as he had to do it a lot of times! We held up the Ramsay street sign and had our photo taken with it. The camera is very deceiving as the close is really tiny and they make it look really big on the TV. We then headed to the Neighbours set and had some photo's taken outside of Grease Monkeys and the Mechanics garage. The guide that showed us round opened the garage to one of the sets and so I had a photo taken sitting at the desk of it. Then Karl Kennedy came to meet us and we had our photo taken with him and he signed an autograph for us.
When we returned to the city I arranged to meet Adam and Finlay outside the tram stop at 3pm to go to Fitzroy. Fitzroy has loads of small boutiques selling really lovely and trendy clothes and lots of funky bars, restaurants and cafe's. The clothes shops were teasing me as I really wanted to shop till I dropped but I had to remind myself that I was a backpacker. There is really cool street graffiti on the side of some of the buildings. We stopped to have some food and chose a noodle place and I had a coconut soup, which was really yummy. About 5:30pm we headed back to their appartment to chill out and wait for Jimmy to finish work. It was really nice just to sit and watch Friends and Adam and I ended up cosying up on the sofa and nearly falling asleep but we were woken up by Jimmy ringing to make a plan to meet and we arranged to meet him at Flinders Station at 8:30pm. After sorting out my gear we went and met him at the station and walked along Southbank to the Crowne Plaza. On the hour there are some collumns that light up and fire shoots from the top of them so we waited outside for the display, which was really cool! We then went inside the Crowne Plaza which has a massive casion, very posh hotel and shops like Versace in it. I managed to sweet talk the bell boy into looking after my bag for me whilst we were in the casino and I then watched the boys gamble some of their money away at roulette. Leaving it to the last minute so as not to miss out on any fun I grabbed my bag, said my goodbyes to the boys and headed to Central Station to get the skybus to the airport.
Security in Australia is so strict that it took me ages to check in and go through all the security checks but I eventually made it and only had to wait 10 minutes at the gate before boarding. As the flight left at 11:50pm and was only 3.5 hours long I was determined to get as much sleep as I could and I settled down with my pilllow and eye mask.
