I got to the airport at 9:30am to catch my flight to Melbourne. I arrived at 15:20 and saw the three guys who had climbed at Uluru when I was waiting to collect my bag. One of them was getting the skybus too so I caught it with him and texted Jimmy who said that he'd meet me when I got there. He replied saying that he'd meet me at 5pm at Flinders Station. The guy I was with had to get to that station too so I went with him and as I had half an hour to kill he said he'd grab a drink with me. We went to a lane called Degraves street which had really trendy cafe's on it and I had a drink with him. He had to leave before 5pm so I said goodbye and waited for Jimmy to arrive.
When Jimmy arrived we had a drink together and caught up about my travels and what he'd been up to since arriving in Melboure. He told me that he'd planned with two guys that he'd met who are English and travelling around the world to go on a road trip to the Great Ocean road the next day. I hadn't had a chance to book a hostel so we walked to where he thought there were some hostels and went and enquired in the most hectic hostel I've ever seen. They were fully booked, which was probably just as well as I wasn't sure if I wanted to stay there so I got a list of other hostels from there and Jimmy phoned one and reserved a room for me. We went and checked me in and then whilst I got ready he waited in the bar downstairs. I met him down there after half an hour and we headed out for dinner. After some pizza we went to meet his friends in a bar. We walked down one of the main high streets and saw a Christmas display in a department store that reminded me of Selfridges Christmas window displays. It's really funny seeing Christmas things when it's really hot - it doesn't feel like Christmas is coming! We had to go up a couple of flights of stairs and then the bar had green carpet that had the texture of grass and had posh outside furniture, which was really cool. Jimmy introduced me to his friends Adam and Finlay and I chatted to Finlay about his travels and about things back home that we were missing, like X Factor! As Jimmy was playing Cricket the next day we left at about 11:30pm and Finlay said that he wasn't doing anything the next day so was happy to be my tour guide. I said I'd text him in the morning.
