Sending catch up to you all,
You only just received two blogs, from Cephalonia and Crete, just completed from Panicale.
The reason for delay in blogging is the very disappointing internet speed and the outrageous cost by Cunard for internet use on board. I say outrageous because it cost $US1000 just for internet use and only until we found out (about four days on board). Thereafter all blogs stopped.
It was impossible to download photos with the slow speed and most certainly was not an enjoyable activity so I stopped.
I did make notes on my i-pad which I copied and attached to both the blogs you just received.
I am however behind in our travels as we are now in Panicale, tomorrow we head up north to Lake Como for five nights (where I expect to have a coffee with George Clooney, who just happens to own a villa there).
I will catch up on ports of call from cruise: Athens, Sarandë (Albania), Heraklion (Greece) Rhodes (Greece) and Mykonos (Greece) before disembarking in Athens (Piraeus) on 14th October. We stayed overnight in Athens. Our hotel room had view of Acropolis (by night, stunning).
We then flew from Athens to Rome, staying one night before catching a train to Florence, staying two nights. From there a local train to Chiusi, picked up our Avis hire car and arrived at Panicale on Wednesday 18th October about 1pm. First stop, Aldo's Bar in the piazza. We felt at home!
All details of this will follow when I am back from Lake Como. Lots to talk about. We are having a wonderful time. Panicale, wonderful Panicale, just as we remembered and loved.
Love to all

Julie Whipper Reading your entries and looking at the photos is like being there (almost). I was wondering if all wine is drunk out of tumblers? (Looking at Phillip drinking wine from a tumbler).
