Weird & wonderful Hanoi!

After arriving in Hanoi I went out with my new American friend Jill to explore the sights.

We ate noodle soup which is their national dish (Pho). After that we explored numerous street bars; literally sitting on a street with plastic chairs (like being at a teddy bears picnic!)

We had a great conversation (if you can call it that!). He was very friendly but couldn't speak a word of English therefore sign language was the only way to communicate.

He offered me a cigarette several times despite me saying I didn't smoke. He also offered me a go on his strange 'bong' to which I also declined. He was 63 years old and very welcoming!

After leaving our new friend we went for one last street beer. Up to this point my seal hadn't broken therefore it was inevitable that I'd need to use the bathroom soon.

I actually had my worse toilet experience ever! The pointed me towards a barely lit room which stunk of urine. All of a sudden a rat jumped out of the dark room where I was supposed to go to the toilet.

In western style, I decided to leave the bathroom for now & went to a nearby hotel instead (good move!!)

Today we took a stroll around the lake where a local old woman stopped me to have a feel of my guns!! We bumped into some American guys who Jill met in Ho Chi Minh City. We're meeting up with them later at a place called 'Le Pub' (very British!!)

Finally, I saw a dog raping another dog in the street (pictured).

So there you have it, weird & wonderful Hanoi!
