Halong Bay Paradise!
I spent the last two days in Halong Bay & what an experience this has been!
I booked through Hanoi Backpackers Hostel which meant the tour was a little more 18-30 instead of a relaxing boat trip!
The bus took 3 hours including yet another commission driven stop at a pottery factory.
Upon arrival we were greeted with a fantastic meal on the boat and this is where the tour began.
Before we knew it the drinking games had begun and we were swimming in Halong bay. I didn't fancy myself for the tripple backflip off the boat so I thought I'd go for the 'running bomb!'
After swimming came kayaking, where we paddled to the caves, walked through them and reached a beautiful lagoon.
Then came dinner & more drinking games! I managed to squeeze in a quick call to my pops for fathers day and then joined the rest of the crew.
On this trip we made a new recruit in the form of Victoria. She has now joined Jill & I, and we've formed team 'old!' the joke being that all thee of us are 28/29 and the remainder of the boat are teenagers!
We have now returned back to Hanoi where we'll spend two more nights. 'team old' checked into a hotel (because we're too old to do hostels!!)
Such a shame all three of us will go our separate ways on Wednesday, as we've really connected as great friends.
What a fantastic time we've had & Halong Bay is seriously recommended.
