1 flight down, 8 to go!!
I'm not sure if I've flown with British Airways before, but it's certainly the first time in long while.
What a pleasant flight it was. Manchester to London in a little over 30 minutes, 3 or 4 times quicker than the train at half the cost.
I barely had chance to tuck into my complimentary snack & drink (Still no booze!!) before we descended for Heathrow Airpot.
I've lived in the capital for 3 years & never before have I seen such spectacular views of the city.
The first landmark I noticed was the newly developed Olympic Stadium (and their neighbours Leighton Orient FC).
As the plane circled before landing, I was in prime position to see the city unfold. The BT tower looked like a crayon, the Millenium Wheel resembled an onion ring and the trains looked like maggots!
If I'm amazed at sights I've seen before at a different angle, I can't imagine how I'm going to feel when I see the Great Wall & the Forbidden City in Beijing.
I have a few hours to kill before my connecting flight so I'm about to see what delights Heathrow Airport has to offer.
