So here I am sat down in Manchester airport, and the tearful farewells are finally over. There really is no turning back now (unless I get the 2.15 train back home from Euston!!)
It's a strange feeling really. I'm excited about the great adventure I'm about to go on and apprehensive about what challenges I'm going to face.
I think it's the first time I've arrived at the airport without heading straight for the bar! Not just because it's only 10am(hasn't stopped me in the past), or because I've probably had more leaving do's than Christopher Columbus had before setting sail for America! I feel it's because this is not really a holiday as such, it's a travelling experience which feels completely different to the Brits abroad 18-30 holidays I usually go on.
I now have 5-6 months to grasp this experience and so far am loving every minute.

Mum Keep Safe sweetheart! .. I've only been home from airport an hour and missing you already .. but have plenty of tidying up to do after all the farewell parties so when that's done I will start planning the welcome home ones! lol!! you're always in my heart thoughts n prayers . . luv ya!! x x x
