The end of an era, let the good times roll!
So here we are, as I approach my final day at work before taking a 6 month break, I'd like to reflect on a fantastic 3 years I've had here in London. I've met, worked and lived with some great people (despite the barrage of abuse I give constantly dish out to my flat mate!)
I had to move down to London due to a lack of opportunities in my hometown. Little did I know what a window of opportunity this would open. I feel I have increased my social network, enhanced my skillset and earned a few quid along the way! This enabled me to plan this fantastic journey around the world.
It's difficult to explain my feelings at the moment. Nervous about the fact I'm about to take a trip into the unknown with no accomplices. Concerned about the fact I've now got to go 6 or 7 months without any income and wondering if I've saved enough to stretch that far. But mainly ecstatic about the fact that I'm about to go on the longest holiday I've ever been on.
Despite being known as a football mad, Hooters visiting, beer monster! I really can't wait to explore these new horizons and adapt to each Countries' respective cultures. I have never been travelling before, it has always been package holidays, all inclusive and Brits abroad type stag doo's. So the whole experience will be alien to me.
I plan to grasp the experience with both hands and enjoy every minute. It will undoubtedly provide a lesson in culture, budgeting, adapting but most of all realising there's more to life than working all week to pay for luxuries we don't actually need.
There's a big World out there, of which I'm about to discover.
