We arrive in phuket after another lovely time travelling across thailand with a driver that had no idea where he was going, but he did enjoy a good fag when he was lost, anyway. When we arrived we decided we would stay with our new found friend sture from Norway near karon beach, what a beach that was. The main reason we were in Phuket was to do our PADI diving course, however did not know we would have to go back to school again for the first few days but it was for a good reason. So the next 4 days we spent diving not bad really. But the last two days were the money shots our first dives. Our first dive was from a beach called Kata and we got to see some lovely fish and coral however we only got to about 8 metres, but best was yet to come. The next day we did our first boat dives just of Rayacha island south of Phuket, an unbelievable experience seeing a whole different world, being able to spend ages under water and not worrying about breathing. We saw some beautiful fish, sea creatures and amazing coral reefs and even some octopusses with our lovely instructor Christine Goller, the best part was getting down to a depth of 18 metres which was cool. I cant wait now till we get to cairns for the Great Barrier Reef. Oh we didnt even get drunk with our time in Phuket however will did eat well, some good resturants.
