Buenos dias me amigos!!

Today is my last day/night in La Antigua! The overwhelming feeling at the moment is.. "this sucks!! I want to stay!"

I've always said the nicest place I have ever visited was Quebec city. Part of the reason for that was because of the memories that were created there and of course the beauty of the backdrop of those memories. Antigua is 100 times more amazing! I'm looking forward to the next leg of my journey... but I'm definitely going to make a point of returning to this wonderful ciudad (city) in the future!

Ok and now as promised. The Eddy Vedder story. Ok so once again this story is about my roomate Toni.

So a few nights ago I was telling her my story about Kurt Cobain (those who know me probably know the story I'm talking about lol) Well, the next day she says to me that my story reminded her of an experience that she had several years ago with Eddy Vedder.

She started off asking me if I had ever heard of Pearl Jam lol, "of course", I said! "Who hasn't heard of Pearl Jam?"

So then she says, "ok then, do you know the song Nothingman?"

"Yeah yeah, it's off of Vitology", I replied. She says, "yeah? Well, I'm the bolt of lighting he cursed the day he let it go!".

I was like, "what, who? You dated Eddy Vedder!!!???"

This is when she explained that song wasn't about Eddy Vedder, it was about her ex-boyfriend who was a childhood friend of Eddy. It's a long story but basically when she started dating this guy he told her he was friends with Eddy and wanted to try to get in touch with but didn't know how. Toni being the in the TV business said that she started to look into it and got in touch with Eddy's managers and was even able to pass on a letter to him for her boyfriend.

A few weeks went by and apparently they started to get weird phone calls at all hours of the night till one day her bf got really annoyed on the phone.. which is when a voice finally spoke on the line. It was Eddy, and he said something like "oh hey man, it's Eddy.. look I'll call back when you're not so upset" So this is when it started. A while later Toni explained that she, her bf and Eddy when out, drank some beer and smoked what Eddy called "rockstar weed". There's even some pictures of this night that Toni says she'll be emailing me :)))

According Toni, Eddy totally feel in love with her and felt that her bf had found his soulmate! That is, till a few months later when he cheated on her which lead to the end of the relationship.

Ok so still time passes by and Vitology the album comes out. In an interview Eddy Vedder explain that the song Nothingman wasn't about him but about a good friend of his who had it all and let it slip though his fingers. Toni and her ex seem to think this song was about them ;) hmmm who knows. I'd like to think so. Certainly was a good story and I had the time to share it with you guys.
