We got up early today to take our mountain flight which had been cancelled yesterday due to bad weather. I was a bit unsure about the tiny plane at first but it was surprisingly cosy and a very smooth ride. We got given a map of the Himalayas and the air steward pointed out the different mountains as we flew over them. It was quite weird being over the mountains rather than having them looming over us, and seeing the clouds beneath us and the mountains still rising brought home just how huge they were. We finally reached Everest....the summit was covered in mist but it towered over everything around it and was a spectacular sight. We got to go into the cockpit to get a better view which was amazing and felt like being on top of the world. But the best thing of all was that we got an extra special certificate to say we had been to Everest.....super!!!!! We spent the rest of the day waiting around the airport for our flight to Hong Kong - can't wait to get there and see Emma and Dan!
