Second day of my road trip!

This morning i left mangawhai and i drove towards Waipu, that is about 30 minutes away.

It's a nice city, small and quiet as well. Immediately i went to explore the main attraction of the city: the caves.

About 10 minutes driving away from the centre you can find 3 big caves in the middle of the mountains... very exciting!

You definitely need a flashlight and shoes against water (otherwise you should go inside barefoot). This is due to the fact that inside is totally dark and you can see nothing ; as well as the caves are very wet ( i heard that when it rains a lot the water can fill up completely them) and so you will get wet your feet.

Anyway, explore them was amazing!

Then i came back to the center and i ate something for lunch in a cute cafè (where the owner gave me a cheese pie just for free at the end of the lunch..... i'm always fascinated about how much kind are the new zealander!!!)

After that i started again to drive and i arrived in whangarrei at 4 pm.

The hostel that i booked in the morning is cool! it's built where a long time ago there was a jail, infact it looks like a real prison! From the rooms to the doors, all lead you to think about a prison!

So, i knew the owner and some guys who work here, i left my backpack and my car and i walked around the city just to have a look.

I like it. Not so busy and not so boring and with a lot of spots around to discover.

After dinner i drank a few beers with the "backpacker's crew", so 8 - 10 guys and girls aslways ready to have a party.

Now is time to sleep. Tomorrow i will start to explore something around here.... and i will let u know!
