First free weekend = let's go to explore the far north!
Wake up at 8am, have breakfast and i'm ready to go... first stage Doubtless bay.
As soon as i start to drive i discover that the tank of the car is pretty empty... so i need petrol... i need a gas station.... but the nearest one is at doubtless bay... f***!
So keeping cross my fingers i keep going to drive... but immediately another annoying issue: i have to drive for more than 10 km on an unpaved road... bloody nz's streets!
ok i have a kind of jeep... with big tyres and it's supposed to go on this type of street.... but it's old!! and i have to travel with it for other 3 months... so i would like to avoid any type of problems!
but it goes... it runs... it works!! i reach the petrol station as well... great! i'm so happy that i decide to give my car a name... RAMBO!
now i can enjoy my trip! Doubtless bay is "not bad".. i mean: the sea is very clean and clear... the beach is long with white sand... all is perfect... but probably i'm thinking too much about cape reinga and i can't enjoy properly that place.
It doesn't matter. I eat just a sandwich on the sand i restart to drive... cape reinga i'm coming!
The landscape is amazin... there is the highway... and nothing around it! I can see just hills... and trees.. and nature! So cool.
But i note that the weather is changing... there are some clouds that i don't like... maybe towards cape reinga it will be better... we'll see.
Finally i get it... i'm here in the northest point of NZ! Where there are a lot of legends and the tales about this place are numerous.. where the Tasman sea meets the Pacific Ocean, making a visible line between them... i'm looking forward to see all that!!
Unfortunately the fog is a lot... i can't see very well... just something! what a pity!
So i reach the campsite where i'm going to sleep this night... hopefully the weather tomorrow will be better and i will be able to see more than today (but it won't be...)
I organize my car to go to sleep: blow up the mattress, take of the pillow and the sleeping bag.. and i'm ready..
