Surfers Paradise......so much for that, no one was allowed in the sea because of the tremendous waves! The apartment owner almost wept with relief to see to "mature" travellers, after going through the hell which is "Schoolies Week". Lots of high-rises, all trying to out do each other in the race to heaven, it must be fab to see what the people in Business class eat!

Anyhow, seeking cultural enlightenment, we decided to join the masses and go to a theme park, "Dreamworld", and ride the Big 5. Now its not been that long since I went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach but either I'm losing my nerve or the rides are getting more and more hair-raising, the lengths people will go to for a thrill these days....we did them all apart from Tower Of Terror (Stephen was too chicken-he wont admit this when questioned). Had a hot dog and a Slurpee which really settled the stomach ( a slurpee is like a fizzy slush puppy-you can also get Frozen Coke, I feel a Peter Kay moment, FROZEN COKE? Whats that all about?)

After all the excitement we went home and I had a small sweet sherry to settle the nerves....
