Day 110 - Saturday 19th June
Caught Holland beat Japan and then caught the minibus further up the coast with some guys from the hostel. A few hours of breakdowns and searing heat later we found ourselves trekking through the jungle to the crystal blue waters of the Tayrona National Park. Characterised by giant, smooth, grey boulders it's one of the most stunning coastlines you'll ever see. We walked down past the first few beaches and ended up at the awesome Cabo camp. Luckily managed to get hammocks for the night in a hut built out on an island just separated from the shore by a brief wade. After a swim and dinner watched an amazing electrical storm surround the area from our breezy perch rented for just a found pounds...
Day 111 - Sunday 20th June
Woke up with the sun to find the place mostly still asleep so swam in the azul lagoon to myself before heading down to another deserted beach for a few early hours. I would've liked to stay for a few more days but our boat was due to leave Cartagena on Tuesday and we needed to get there by the night to organise passport control. Unfortunately our minibus go delayed leaving due to an extended family taking their time walking back from the beach. A police check later and the driver had shoved us in a taxi to make the bus from Taganga to Cartagena. Luckily I was meeting Oli from Bogota to catch the boat so he held up the bus. 5 hours later we checked into a family's colonial hostel with a 12 bedroom air conditioned room between the two of us...
