We originally planned to stay in Brisbane for 2 nights. However one of the things I have learnt about travelling is if u plan something its dangerous. Plans never fall into place. Obviously we were approaching the Easter holidays and in Byron Bay just further South from Brisbane they were holding a blues festival. As you can imagine trying to get accommodation in Byron Bay was a nightmare, and if we did find somewhere it was totally out of are price range. So collectively we decided to stay in Bris for 4 nights. I really enjoyed Brisbane, it has a cosmopolitan feel about it. The only negative is it hasn't got a beach but plenty of shops!!! We met up with friends who live in Brisbane, so we mingled with the locals and avoided the back packers scenes for a couple of days!!! On good friday they drove us to Surfers Paradise for the day; which was perfect because we had to stay in Bris for longer it meant we had to miss out on Surfers. However, the only thing Surfers has going for it is the beach...so we got to see it and escaped having to pay ridiculous prices. Ps. Forgot to add that Sam nearly got me arrested for stealing an apple!! Yes an apple. After a night out we trotted over to the corner shop to get some munchies. Sam hopping all the way because she had one flip flop on (she lost the other one) and with a rambo tie around her head!!!!! So we didnt stick out at all!!..Lol So what I didnt realise was that Sam decided to bring her apple with her (dont ask why) then place it in my bag in the shop. So when I got to the counter the man tried to make me pay for the apple in my bag!! We got away with it but it was a close one......
