Our next stop after Laos was Chiang Mai, where we stayed for 6 nights. Here we all went on a two day trip which involved elephant trekking, bamboo and white water rafting and pretty tough mountain trekking. Needless to say we had a great time, the scenery was incredible, we loved the elephant trekking and yes our legs were killing us after the 8 hour hike and Ive now realised just how unfit i am!
Whilst also in Chiang Mai 4 of us, including Nath did a one day thai cooking class which was so much fun. We learnt how to cook lots of lovely thai dishes, so hopefully i can make you all a nice thai meal when im back! 3 of us girls also decided to do a one day oil massage course, which was brilliant. So now i can cook and massage (well i like to think i can);) I just need some volunteers for me to practice now! lol
During our stay here, we also had some drunken nights out and one evening all ended up trying out a thai nightclub which was an experience to say the least. I loved Chiang Mai, definately one of my favourite places in Thailand. Sadly this is where we had to say goodbye to our friends and for the first time it was just me and bro.
After leaving Chiang Mai we got the bus back down to Bangkok and decided that we needed a much deserved 6 days relaxing on a nice beach, so headed for Ko Chang, 8 hours from Bangkok.
The weather was scorching for the majority of our time here and on the day it was overcast we hired a scooter and went for a drive around the island, where we visited waterfalls and other stunning beaches. We really enjoyed our time here and managed to unwide and recover from our hiking.
