We explored the city when we arrived (which didn't take very long :-) and spent the first night at a concert that had been put on for the locals. After Whitsundays we headed, with our very spotty legs to Magnetic Island to chill out for 2 nights. This is a small island off the coast of Townsville, which you can drive around in no more than 30 mins, so we decided to hire a 'barbie' car.
