Hi All,
Im soo sorry i havent updated the blog for ages, i dont know where the last 2 months have gone, its flown by. As you all know Erin left me and my brother in Bangkok on 18th June and yes a few tears were shed. I was really sad saying goodbye to Erin as it had hit me that our trip of a lifetime together had come to an end and all the happy memories of all the great things we had done all came flooding back to me. But lucky for me and Nathan we still had 2 1/2 months of our trip to go so it was onwards to Laos for us two.
Unfortunately the internet in Asia is pretty useless which is why i havent had a chance to update you all but Erin has kindly offered to do the entry for Thailand which should be coming soon. In the meantime i thought i would update you all on our adventures since leaving Bangkok, here goes trying to remember everything!
Well Nath and I had a fun packed bus journey to Vang Vieng in Laos, it took 19 hours and we had to change buses 6 times. But just by coincidence we happended to meet our canadian friends that we had travelled through Thailand with and also a cool English couple, so luckily this made the journey a laugh. We all ended up travelling together for the next 2 weeks. As you can imagine by the time we arrived in Vang Vieng for the much talked about river tubing we were all ready for bed and not ready to party. :( The next day we were all full of life and ready to hit the river with our tubes. The lads decided to be different and dress up in pink girls hot pants..yes they successfully managed to catch everyones eye.
What can i say about tubing, it really is as good as everyone had told us, we all loved it. For those of you who havent heard about it, basically there are about 7 bars along the Nong Sam river and each bar has robes swings & slides into the river and mud pools and in a nut shell you drink all day, get hammered and throw yourselves off the swings etc YES, its very dangerous but such great fun. In the end we spent two days tubing as we all agreed our bodies couldnt take anymore alcohol and we needed to move on. Next stop was Luang Prabang which is a really quaint european like town. Here us girls went off to see the waterfalls, where it chucked it down with rain and the lads went for the more active option of mountain biking. We all spent two nights here and then we got the two day boat along the Mekong River to Northern Thailand. The scenery in Laos was amazing and would def recommend anyone to go, plus its soo cheap and the people are really nice. All in all we loved Laos especially the tubing. ;)
