Hi all,
Well i ended the trip to Queenstown with a thrilling 15,000 ft skydive!! I cant describe what an amazing experience it was and im so glad i did it. Although as you can imagine i was pretty nervous beforehand but Erin kindly came with me to calm my nerves. Unfortuntely my 'normally' good persuassion skills didnt work and Erin kept her feet firmly on the ground!! I havent seen the DVD of it yet, as they are sending it home for me but im sure it will provide much laughter for everyone when i get back. ;) Met some great people as well, two of which were from Leigh on Sea- Jo, might meet up with them when i come to see you.
From Queenstown we then spent the next night by Lake Wanaka, where we stopped off at the Puzzling World ( massive maze), was a good laugh and yes we did manage to find our way out after 2 hours!!
We are now in Franz Joseph, which is where the ice glaciers are. Today we all went on a half day hike up the glacier, which i absolutely loved. Unfortunately, due to my bad ankle (god damn you Kurt Geiger cleaners) i was FORCED to go in the slow walkers group, I was quite pissed off with this, but the girls on the otherhand found it a great excuse to accompany me!!! lol The scenery was unbelievable and the hike will be something i will never forget. Sue and I were orginally splashing the cash and going to do the helihike but sadly the weather wasnt good enough. Bit gutted about it but it saved us some money for other activities. Jo- No, the hike wasnt nearly as knackering as climbing the volcano!
Tomorrow we are driving up the coast and making our way to Nelson, where we plan to go to a winery. :) Yes, im in my element with all the red wine. Erin and Maz arent so keen and are happily sticking to the Ribena in the cupboard, oh well that means for me and Sue. lol
I hope your all well and enjoying all the snow back home. Seems so strange being in the scorching heat, (in Feb) while your all freezing cold.
Take care
