Saturday 15th Dec

We were planning to visit Melbourne Grand Prix but unfortunately to our surprise, it was pouring down with rain!! So we ditched the idea of visiting there. We were unsure what to do so we decided to walk around in the town, again searching in the charity shops for any lovely bargains. There were plenty of good stuff that were useful for the house. We saw few that were from Ikea!! Shame that we dont live there cos we would certainly buy them!! Shame that the charity shops back in the UK aren't like that, unless we came on the wrong day!

We bought a couple of things including the christmas crackers for ourselves! It was still pouring down with rain, practically all day! So hopefully tomorrow, the weather will improve so we can continue exploring around such as the Grand Prix, do bit of more sunbathing and visiting the luna park.

Basically for rest of the day, we just didn't do much, just reading, updating our draft diary.

Sunday 16th Dec

Sunbathing time! we were going to get a tram which go to the beach but unfortunately for us, we would have to wait for 30 minutes until a next tram come. We thought it would be pointless to wait so we walked to the beach. At half-way to the beach we managed to hop onto a tram.

When we arrived at the beach, there were lots of markets nearby so we thought to have a look round. Most of them we have seen from the Victoria's Markets. There were lots of things that we would like to buy but it would be too expensive for us to post them home and that we wanted to save money for our Christmas/ New Year's eve.

After looking around the markets, we went to the pier where they had the small penguins nearby. The pier is very similar to South End pier but shorter in length! Unfortunately for Lisa, when we arrived at the end of a pier, she have broken her favourite flip flops, so she have to walk without it!! We walked around ton of rocks where lots of penguins hide from the people during the day and then when it is dark in the evening, they come out for a swim in the sea. we did spotted few penguins that were hiding in the gap between the rocks and they were very small but very smelly!!

We then walked on the beach to go to the shops as we had to find new flip flops for Lisa as we didn't want her walking around with her bare feet!!! We managed to find new Flip Flops which was very similar to Daniel's Croc flip flops (but different brand), it was quite colourful but Lisa was happy with it. Lisa also bought a smart heels for herself which was on sale. No wonder why her rucksack is getting heavier as she have bought lots of bargain clothes and shoes!

After spending some money in the shop, we walked back to the beach where we enjoyed the sun for most of the afternoon and listening to our ipods. Time for us to get a tram back to the hostel as the hostel was providing the bbq which started at 5pm but unfortunately for us, we have missed our tram twice!! So we gave up and walked back to the hostel. We did manage to hop on a tram after 30 minutes walk and arrived at the hostel just before 5pm, luckily for us!

After our tasty bbq, we chilled out in the tv room and watched the films for the rest of the evening.
