Wednesday 5th Dec
Just a easy morning as we were waiting for Daniel's family friends, Steve, Ellis & their children to come over to our hostel at 12.30pm.
Once they arrived, we all went to the cafe nearby to have lunch. We then recieved our stuff that we have requested to be sent over here from our homes. Lisa was pleased to see her hair straightener again!
Steve and Ellis treated us lunch so big thanks to them for a lovely lunch. Unfortunately for their son, Thomas wasn't feeling very well. He looked pale which was unfortunate for him cos he was meant to be playing football at 4pm!
It was good to see and catch up with them. It was strange to meet up at the other side of the world! Unfortunately they couldn't stay too long as they wanted to take Thomas home to recover. They looked as they were already recovered from the Jet Lag.
Soon after dropping our stuff at the hostel, we decided to walk around, searching for the hairdressers for Lisa as she certainly do need her hair to be done after at least 4 months! We somehow ended up passing the bookshop which had an advert saying that Terri Irwin would be in, signing books. For those peeps who never heard of her, she is the widow of Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter.
We decided to have a look and decided to get a book. It was on sale. We then decided to wait around to get the book signed by her. We actually waited at least 1 hr and 30 mins. We were only at least 4th in the queue, so we didn't have to wait too long to get the book signed.
Once Terri arrived, she looked frightened or tired. We didn't have a chance to talk to her, or say a word cos the fan behind us was too busy talking to her! So it was like 1 min and that was it! We were dissapointed that we couldnt get a chance to talk to her but hopefully we will see her around at the Australia Zoo.
After a quick grab to have our tea, we made our way to the night markets at Victoria Markets. It was full of international food for you to try or buy. After browsing around, seeing all the different kinds of food, crafts, clothes etc, we decided to treat ourselves to buy the spanish donuts which was not better than the typical british donuts that you can get near the seaside!
We enjoyed browsing around as it made us feeling xmassy, seeing all the people searching high and low for the christmas presents. We didn't buy anything for ourselves, though Daniel did see something he really wanted but didn't have enough money on him to purchase it.
