Wednesday 26th March
We checked out and didn't have to leave the hostel as our coach wasn't till 6.30pm for the overnight journey, arriving to Cape Town by 2pm. So we hung around, being on the internet most of the time, doing bit of search for Cape Town.
We booked the taxi for 5pm and it arrived very early and we weren't sure if it was for us as it didn't look like a taxi. Just an ordinary car as usual! He told us that we had to go now otherwise we would miss our coach due to bad traffic. We thought it can't be that far away for our coach station! So we decided to accept and left early. It was a quite long journey which we weren't expecting. Again, the driver decided to bring his wife along on our journey!
In fact, it was very lucky that we left early cos we were so close to be missing our coach! We had 10 mins spare to rush through to collect the tickets and to board on! Unfortunately we were tricked as the porter arrived and started to put the bags on it. From that point, we had a feeling that she was expecting to be paid after that job. We didn't care cos we knew that we don't have enough hands to carry everything to rush through. After paying her off, we were just in time to board on, thanks goodness!
We were impressed with the coach as we were on the sleepliner coach and we were sitting at the back (Sitting on Daniel's lucky number!) With sitting at the back, we were able to put our seats lying down so we could sleep beautifully! It was just like being back on Amtrak train in USA! We could say that it was the best coach we had, comparing to other coaches, especially with Greyhound in Australia!
It felt as it was a luxury coach which was probably a good thing for us. It was a 19 hours journey! We managed to grab a couple of hours sleep and we did feel odd out cos it was full of south african people and we were wondering where the other backpackers were!
