Friday 23rd November
8.30am for our Kiwi Ex Coach pick up to Christchurch. It felt strange cos we got used to having a same driver, Mar since Auckland. This time we had Jimmy, who was a very rough driver! We were sitting at the back unfortunately, meaning it was very bumpy, causing us to have uncomfortable journey. Not good news for Daniel's knee either!
Before we arrived to Christchurch, we visited to Lake Pukaki for the scenery views. Daniel was unable to jump off the coach to take in the views cos he was struggling to hop on the coach. So Lisa had to do all the work for him! :P
We were surprised that we arrived to Christchurch in good time, that probably explained why we had a rough journey cos he was speeding!
It was a struggle once we got to the hostel cos Lisa had to carry all the bags for both of us. Daniel unfortunately had to take crutches with him, meaning he will lose $60 deposit as he would need to return it back to Queenstown medical centre. They did say that he could post it back but not sure if its worth paying for the postage. Got to find out first.
We haven't done anything once we arrived to Christchurch. Just that we have noticed its alot similar to UK, especially to Cambridge! The disadvantage of the city is that there are too many souvneirs shops about!! We didn't walk around very far as Daniel was struggling to get about.
Returned back to have our tea which was chips/fried eggs butty. Earlier, we had fish and chips for our lunch and had too many chips leftovers. Decided to use it for our tea instead. Saved us money! Only costed us 2 pounds each for both meals! Cheap as chips!
We learnt that its cheaper to use the internet by purchasing 7 days access. We wish that we updated our blog/photos here instead of Queenstown. It would save us money and stress of trying to update it before the time run out! So we decided to purchase it, seeing that we are going to be in Christchurch for a fair while (5 days)
Tomorrow, not sure what we will be doing. Its all depending on Daniel obviously! Tut tut! And then on Sunday, we will be leaving at 7am to go to Kairouka for a day and evening. Fingers crossed for Daniel to get better for swimming with dolphins. I know he won't be a happy bunny if he don't get a chance and Lisa did! ;)
NB We are having problems with our photos albums. You will see that the photos aren't in correct order. They are backwards, meaning the last photo in the album is actually the first one! We have contacted the website to inform them and hopefully it will be sorted asap.
