Thursday 29th Nov
Our last day in Christchurch so we both decided to make the most of it. A couple of days ago, we had a brief walkaround and the nice old lady stopped us asking if we have been on the trams yet. We were puzzled and answered no and she kindly had a couple of spare tickets to give away to us! We were grateful for it but we didn't realise that date were running out in the following 2 days till on the day we were going to use it! So unfortunately the tickets were now invalid! We were so gutted!
We decided to go for a walk towards the park and have our picnic lunch as it was a lovely day. Also we wanted to see the area which looked so simiilar to Cambridge as they had a river, full of punting boats (Unsure of the correct name!) Before we proceeded, we thought that we got to make a visit to the Cathedral which was 2 mins walk away from our hostel. It was a lovely building and there was a school choir going on at the time.
On our way to the Botanic Garden, we noticed that there was a art gallery which was also free admission so we decided to make the most of it. We weren't exactly there very long as we aren't into arts and couldn't make the sense of the paintings. We prefer to see the visual stuff such as sculptures.
We had a wander around in the Botanic Garden which was a free admission for both of us. It took us at least 30 mins. We found a perfect spot to have our picnic which was beside the river with plenty of ducks about. They were certainly trying to get our lunch! We fed them with our leftovers and the seagulls were always the ones who got the food. So we got annoyed with them and chased them away to ensure that we fed the ducks instead!
After a couple of hours walking around, visiting the rose gardens, Cactus garden, and so many others. Daniel were craving to look around as well as dragging Lisa who wasn't keen on looking at that sort of things... not yet!!
We then made our way back to the hostel and packed our stuff, ready for our departure to Melbourne tomorrow.
So far as we saw, the city was very much english which it did mention that its the most english city that you possibly come across in New Zealand!
