Sunday 10th February
As we didn't have anything planned today, we just woke up when we were unable to sleep anymore. Once we were sorted, we walked to the town as there were markets going on that they have every sundays. The markets weren't exactly big but they did have a good selection of jewellery, second-hand books, crafts etc. We have bought few vegetables for ourselves. It was much cheaper than we have bought from the supermarket AND of course they are fresher!!
When we have finished browsing around the markets, our plan was to go to the beach but we thought to save it for later in a week, as we have been to different beach many times!! Also as we have bought vegs from the markets, we couldn't really take it to the beach so we returned back to the hostel to drop it off. We heard that the Botanic Garden was free entry so we thought to go there for a change. Once we dumped our food, we walked to the Botanic Garden.
The walk took us about 15 mins from our hostel. Just before we entered into Botanic Garden, we read that we might spot wild koalas there. The walk was very nice and it wasn't too hot! There were different section of the garden such as Japanese, Chinese, New South Wales plants to see. It was very interesting. While Daniel was taking pictures of the flowers, Lisa was carrying on with her walk and nearly stood on a small snake as she thought it look like a stick! It gave her bit of fright and it then went to hide under the plant.
About 30 minutes later on our walk, Daniel spotted a huge lizard while he was taking a photo. It did give Daniel a fright which also caused Lisa a fright too! We think it could be a "Blue tongue lizard" which Daniel held one from Koala's Park in Magnetic Island.
We walked back to the entrance and had teas with biscuits at the cafe. once we drank our cuppa, we walked back to the hostel along the creek, much quicker way on our return this time!
We decided to borrow a dvd called "National Treasure" to finish watching the second half as we missed it when we were in the greyhound coach from Brisbane to Surfers Paradise which we had to get off there.
After watching the dvd, we were a little hungry so we thought to cook for our early dinner, well actually very late lunch as we didn't have any lunch! We then watched another dvd called "Sin City" which was okay-ish!
Lisa and Daniel had a shower to refresh themselves before chilling out on the bed, reading books and updating our diary on our laptop, ready for the next upload on our website.
