Saturday 9th February

Early wake up call for us for the first time in a long time! We had to get up early to catch our coach at 8.20am. Lucky for us, the greyhound terminal was only next door so we didn't have very far to walk and dragging our bags too.

The coach journey was the longest we have done since we started from Cairns. We did stop by at Byron Bay that we were hoping to stop by but judging by the look of the area, it looked as we weren't missing anything good. The only thing that we were disappointed for not stopping by in Byron Bay was that they do snorkelling tours to visit many sea turtles. That would be amazing for us to see.

Moving on and finally arrived to Coffs Harbour at 2.15pm, a hour early than expected which was confusing for us. The hostel shuttle was already on stand by, waiting to do any pick up. Off we hopped onto the shuttle and our hostel was based about 10mins drive away! Once we arrived to the hostel, we were greeted by the couple who run the hostel and showed us to the room with their help carrying our bags!

There was a pizza/movie night being planned so we decided to order a pizza for the evening so we made our way to the reception. Once we reached to the reception, the guy decided to sit us down and started to tell us about the area, attractions, basic information etc which was very decent of him. He was very friendly and certainly deaf aware which was very helpful for us. He was telling us about the lookout for the views of the beaches, so we decided to do it straight away. We returned back to our room to collect the camera and the driver, who picked us up from the greyhound terminal approached us and asked if we wanted a lift to the lookout. We grabbed the opportunity! We thought that was very decent of him!

After 5 mins drive to the lookout, it was amazing to see all the views and he was telling us about what we were seeing. In the view, there was an island that we could visit and have a wander around. We were surprised about that so the driver asked if we wanted a lift back or have a wander around, making our way back to the hostel. We thought to have a chance to wander around on the island so we declined the lift back to the hostel.

It took us at least 30mins to reach to the beach/harbour and then extra 15mins to walk onto the island. Once we were onto the island, we climbed up to the top and had a good lookout. Of course we took plenty of photos. We didn't spot any wildlifes unfortunately.

It was quite lucky by the time we walked back to the hostel as the weather ended up to be very cloudy and windy! We stopped by at the supermarket to purchase few things before proceeding to the hostel.

We then relaxed, watching tv while waiting for the pizzas to be delivered. We were looking through the provided activities in the area. There was one activity that we both really wanted to do so we will reveal once we can book it! At one time, We were looking at the clock and was surprised how fast the time had arrived till we realised that the clock have been changed, one hour forward. That explained how our coach arrived "early"

Pizza arrived, we ate it all up and watched a movie, Hitchhikers to the galaxy. Kindly they even added subtitles for us so we didn't feel left out.

Movie finished by 8.30pm. We returned back to the room, feeling so tired already!
