We arrived in Koh Phi Phi Don after a two hour ferry journey from Phuket. The place is sunny and much prettier than seedy Phuket. The first day we went to the beach, a five minute walk from where we are staying.
We took a day trip out on a long boat. We saw all the monkeys before snorkelling around Phi Phi Lay. Simon loved watching allthe fish and spotted Nemo, I was just freaked out! Some Japanese people on the boat were feeding them so our boat was surrounded!! We went to Maya beach (where the film The Beach is set). The sea was a gorgeous blue and the sand was so fine and soft. Combined with the blue sky - we were in paradise. The beach was like a hidden gem, you had to swim off the boat to the rocks and climb over the wooden ladder, over some more rocks and down a dirt path to find it. After snorkelling at Shark Point (sadly no sharks) we headed to Bamboo Island which was again stunning. The views of the other islands in the distance was lovely. By sunset there were a few clouds but we managed to spot several playful dolphins which was a bonus.
We spent a day on the beach yesterday and headed up to the viewpoint on the island. We were told it was a lot of steps but we didnt expect that many! We had to rush to make it in time to see the sunset, so we were pretty tired and hot when we got to the top. The views were worth the climb. We could see the sunset pefectly and see the island.
The nightife on the islands pretty good, a few bars with free buckets and BBQs and a rooftop bar playing Indie songs til the break of dawn. Theres also loads of beach bars. We're pretty gutted the photos aren't uploading just yet as we have some fab pictures to share with you all. Hope all is well back home...off for an ice cold Chang love Kim and Si xxx
